  • Warrior Writers, Re-Making Sense

Our second book's 200+ pages are filled with poetry, prose, letters, photographs and visual artwork. The works in this collection come from the need to be honest and real, to express the most painful and complex emotions related to military experiences, specifically those connected to the occupation of Iraq. There is a deep necessity to create when so much has been shattered and stolen — a profound sense of hope comes from the ability to rebuild. Get more info or contact the project at warriorwriters [at] ivaw [dot] org. All proceeds go to IVAW.

  • Road from Ar Ramadi (now in paperback)

  • Soldiers Speak Out

Soldiers Speak Out is a powerful, first-hand testament to the reality of the military experience, told entirely in the words of American veterans who have been to war and are now opposing it. We hear how they came to join the military, about their experiences in training and in war, and what led to the turning point when they decided they could no longer, in good conscience, participate in the war, or keep silent.

  • The Sutras of Abu Ghraib

The story of a soldier who refused to succumb to violence. Aidan Delgado, an IVAW member, examines the attitudes that make prisoner abuse possible and explores his own developing Buddhist beliefs against a brutal backdrop.

  • The Ground Truth

Filmmaker Patricia Foulkrod focusses her lens on patriotic young Americans - ordinary men and women who heeded the call for military service in Iraq. Visit the website for more info.
