After having served a one year tour of duty in Iraq, 2003-2004, I have returned home fully convinced of the immorality of this war. I strongly believe it is my moral obligation to actively oppose this war, as well as help educate the American public on the futility of current U.S. foreign policy toward the Middle East.

I'm not re-enlisting cause our military presence overseas is making America less safe, and I'm not willing to serve the interests of war profiteers.

I served 7 months in Iraq from January to July 2004 in Baghdad and Najaf. I was wounded by an IED and was awarded a purple heart. In January 2005 I went AWOL to Canada and after almost two years of fighting to open the doors for others I was being deported so I came back in October 2006. I was discharged without a court martial because my unit was in Germany. Peace much love and most of all Resist!!!!

I joined the National Guard when I was 17, in January of 2004. I knew I would need the money for college and I felt a much needed sense of discipline and direction for my life. It wasn't until the Dean of Admissions at my older brothers college asked me, "As a Soldier, What do you think about the war in Iraq?", and I had no reply, that I knew I needed to find an answer. I sought the truth; this is where the truth led me.

I got back from my last tour in october, this time around i was called out of the IRR. I wasnt in agreement with the war when this tour began, but being there this time my veiw has shifted from a vague dissagreement, to a need to take action. This war goes against everything we are supposed to stand for. The powers that be are tainting our legacy. If you arent furious, you arent paying attention!

I served in Iraq APR 2003-JAN 2004, mostly as the Regimental S2 for 2nd ACR. I left the military shortly after my Iraqi tour because I didn't support the war and didn't want to continue risking my life for a cause I thought was unjust and illegal.
